Events and Activities

TuLF Tudor Entertainment Afternoons (T.E.A.’s) are now One Year Old!
Following on from our Tudor Estate reminiscence and history afternoons TuLF have established monthly TEA gatherings on the first Friday afternoon of every month, to bring members of our local community together for tea, games and a chat.
A welcoming group of locals gather each month with members of the TuLF Management Committee to hone their card and game skills over a hot drink and biscuit assortment. New members as well as familiar faces are always welcome.
In the hour before (and sometimes also during) our TEA, TuLF have organised opportunities for members of our local community to try out new skills, often with the support of tutors who themselves are trialling and developing new classes. Over the past year, these have included Mindful Yoga, Qigong, Wet and Dry Felting, Block Printing and Teasel Critter making. We hope to continue to offer new learning opportunities, encouraging the development of new skills in a fun and friendly environment.

Tudor Estate History Project and reminiscences.
Tudor Drive Library was created in 1951 to serve the newly built Tudor Estate. In 2021 we celebrated it's 70th Birthday with a big birthday event and exhibition. The Tudor Estate was built incrementally from 1934 to the late 1940s, and TuLF has been organising 90th Birthday events to celebrate the uniqueness and history of our local housing community. These have been very well-supported happenings, organised with FoLaR. We hope to continue this theme and, in this vein, had a history talk on 75 years of the 71 London bus. This was the first bus to travel through the streets of the Tudor Estate.

Community Projects
At Tudor Library Friends, we are passionate about bringing our community together through meaningful and impactful projects that improve the library building and it's surroundings.
Making a Difference
Our past events have been a resounding success, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate community and learning. From engaging author talks and family craft sessions to gardening days and seasonal festivals, these gatherings have showcased the library’s role as a vital hub in our community. For families, the library offers a space to bond, explore, and nurture a love for reading. Older residents find it to be a sanctuary for connection and discovery, while our dedicated volunteers see their efforts making a tangible difference in enhancing the lives of others. The library is more than just a building—it’s a cornerstone of our neighborhood, fostering inclusion, inspiration, and growth for all.
